Blog for today:

Forgot to mention yesterday that at the top of the pass and the state line, there were a couple of other American cyclists and they never asked who we were, where we were from, where we we going and where we had been!  Lol.  Very funny.  In the evening after dinner, I went for a walk around camp and chatted to this American guy who was having a walking holiday around the area.  He had some great photo’s from Devils Chair, I think he said.  He had an interesting old caravan and a old happy dog.

A warmer night in the tent last night, I guess closing the air vents and putting on a base layer helped somewhat.  Breakfast was at the ledge which was great, we played games while we waited and had a good laugh.  The ride today was billed as an easy one, all downhill!  Great, although it wsa going to be 60+ miles.  The scenery was breathtaking on both sides of the road, I’m not sure what it would be like to cycle in the opposite direction all uphill, but hey, we didn’t have to.  We followed the Lochsa River all the way.  I guess the view to get a bit samey after a while, but it was just awesome, beautiful, all we needed were some large animals coming out the forest and drinking at the waters edge.  The scent was pine, strong in places.  The shade kept the cold for most of the day too.    I bumped into Ublad by the river, he had his shows and socks off relaxing in the water.  It looked like a great idea and I joined.  Yep, dam good idea.  That’s about it, not much happened, there were no towns to stop off at, just lovely views.  I guess this is what they call, “the badlands”.I imagined Canada to be like this, the opening to Rambo, First Blood is similar too.

It’s funny, I hardly notice people speaking American now, I will probably slip back into normality when home pretty quickly.  Whilst riding you think about all kinds of crazy things, your mind just wanders.  So here is a question, which I guess is only relevant in the US.  Your at the beach, its hot and sunny, you have put on your suncream and only have a little left.  Someone comes over and says that they have forgotten theirs and could they have some as they are burning.  If you say no, you can’t have any and they end up getting skin cancer, could they sue you??  See how boring it can get on the bike lol

Did I write about Clark and whats his face too, if they felt guilty for discovering the new land which led to it being invaded by the white man, their Indian friends being wiped out.  They must have had a conscience or felt bad about what happened.

 Shots from last night

 Fantastic scenery yet again
