Did my first back-to-back training at the weekend and it went pretty well, very happy with myself. The ride down to Whitstable was long and hilly, 60miles which is only 6moth than the Brighton run, but feels so much longer. Chips on the beach afterwards helped, although I didn't notice the sunburn till I got home. Highlight was setting off the speedcamera warning sign at the bottom of Shooters Hill, 40mph+ Fely rough when I got home though.
Sunday was spent doing laps of Richmond Park, each lap is 7miles long. There is a speed limit of 20mph, but some nice fast downhill bits ;) The cars do get in the way though. Did 4laps which was 28 odd miles. Felt pretty good and could have done more, but had to get home. So after completing the back-to-back without many problems, I feel ok now about the tour. Of course, 2days in a row don't count for sh*t when we are doing 90 days of back-to-back with a few days off. Another plus was I used no gells which can upset the stomach.
Below are the Cyclemeter readouts. Again, they don't give 100% accuracy concering speed and elevation. Distance is correct as is ride time, so i guess it can work out the average speed correctly with those details.
